The Sergeant @ Arms arrives early for the meeting to set-up the room and prepare it for the meeting, makes coffee and provides snacks for the break. He/She welcomes members and guests as they arrive. He/She then opens the meeting and introduces the Toastmaster.

The Toastmaster is the Host and Master of Ceremonies at the meeting, creating an atmosphere of interest, enthusiasm and enjoyment

The Speakers are the star performers at every meeting. Each speaker prepares and delivers either a Manual speech with specific times, objectives and guidelines; or an Educational on some aspect of speechcraft.

The Speech Evaluators read the speech objectives before the speakers begin, and provide both oral and written feedback on how well the speech met those objectives. You can fill in the appropriate evaluation form for the speaker's project electronically and send it to them on Basecamp as an attachment. Each meeting, the Wordmaster will present the club’s word of the day. All speakers are encouraged to use the word. When the word is used, everyone present is to lightly tap on the table to acknowledge the use of the word.
The Wordmaster also records each speakers use of um’s ah’s and other filler words which disrupt the listener. The Wordmaster is also encouraged to note any unique words or phrases, and the word of the day, used during the meeting. |
Each meeting, a member gives a toast. The Toaster is to express a tribute, referring to the occasion and expresses goodwill on behalf of the group and then proposes the toast formally.

The Table Topic Master leads the impromptu speaking segment of the meeting, ensuring that every member has an opportunity to speak at every meeting.
When called by the Table Topic Master, the speaker will give a short impromptu speech with an introduction, body and conclusion. Speech duration is between one and two minutes. |
The Table Topic Evaluator gives a brief evaluation and suggestions for improvement for each table topic speaker.

The Timer monitors and records the time for each speaker and each segment of the meeting. For online meetings, download online meeting stoplight backgrounds by clicking the buttons to the right labeled start, green, yellow, red. When you're timer, use the jpegs as backgrounds to indicate time.

The General Evaluator evaluates everything that happens during the meeting, except the formal speeches and table topics, which are evaluated individually

The Zoom Master starts the meeting and manages the participants and poll. Click the button to the right to learn how to create the poll.
